“I was inspired to develop PaPPS Accreditation by my experience of witnessing the patient-clinician relationship throughout surgical journeys. The recent PIP scandal and the Keogh report also highlighted the importance of correctly nurturing this relationship. PaPPS Accreditation aims to support everyone within the industry to improve patient care and safety. The benefits of being PaPPS Accredited for clinicians involves dedicated bespoke PaPPS Accreditation training to develop understanding of the patient, and access to the PaPPS Accreditation support line six days a week.”
Norman Wright, Clinical Director
Why be PaPPS Accredited?
Given the proposed system of revalidation for Aesthetic Nurses, The Keogh Report and with an increasing number of people seeking aesthetic treatments , cosmetic surgery and non-elective surgical procedures the demand for psycho-emotional support has risen. Pre- and post-operative evaluation is essential in helping surgeons, nurses and clinics to assess the Emotional, Relational & Psychological (ERP) well-being of the patient.
PaPPS Accreditation will provide a framework for continuing educational development, it will accredit and publicise surgeons, nurses and clinics who have achieved the standards of practice required to enter the PaPPS Accreditation register and will monitor standards of good practice in supporting aesthetic , cosmetic and non-elective surgical patients.
This, in turn, has inspired Norman to look at ways in which surgeons, nurses and clinics can enhance their patient journey, never turn a patient away, greatly reduce the risk of litigation, ensure satisfied patients for life and most importantly, see the person behind the patient.
Do the Wright thing and become a PaPPS Accredited member to show that you are committed to your patients receiving the best service and experience possible.
